Reading motivation & overcoming dyslexia mindsets
In the last module we looked at:
How to tell whether your child has phonological dyslexia OR just visual dyslexia (Scotopic sensitivity/Visual stress, also known as Irlen Syndrome).
It was the most important part of the course, so if you haven’t watched those videos, then please go back and have a look. 🙂
Today, we need to be extra-kind to ourselves (Yay!).
You are going to love this video (I’m yet to meet a parent who doesn’t love this):
Motivating your own child with dyslexia to read and learn to love reading (Yes, it’s achievable)
Overcoming mindsets that cause kids with dyslexia to fail (do not let your child fall into these traps)
Choose whichever of these videos is relevant to your child’s gender and age… Watch the video first to make sure it is appropriate for your child, and then… (What are we waiting for?)… Invite your child to watch the video and ask them what they think about it.
Amazing video for parents about our own mindset (with Jaemin Frazer – Personal Development Expert)
This video is for parents… And my goodness… It is healthy stuff!
Wow! Did you get as much out of that interview as I did? We’ve got more interviews with Jaemin Frazer later in the course. Look forward to it. 🙂
- Your child watches the video that is relevant to them
- Chat with your partner (or a friend) about what your concerns and fears are for your child… And about how that impacts your parenting style.
UP NEXT…In the next module (one of my favourites), you’ll discover…
The main skills your child needs for reading (Different content for different grade levels) and how to teach those skills easily.
- Specific, step-by-step activities that help kids with phonological dyslexia
- Specific, step-by-step things to put in place for kids with Scotopic Sensitivity (aka Visual Stress/Irlen Syndrome)
